Artist Franciska Howard

My love of drawing and painting started from an early age. Before I was old enough to go to school my mum introduced me to colouring books and pencils, she always had a stock of them on hand. I would sit there for hours colouring in, shading and being quite absorbed in what I was doing, for me it was a totally engrossing experience.
After my school years, I met my husband to be, we got married and started a family. I had my first child a son, then three years later I gave birth to twin boys, life became very hectic. The only time I practiced art back then, was to draw my childrens favourite characters, such as the Ninja Turtles and Batman. I even learned to use the computer to draw, and with the aid of the mouse and ecliptic tool on my Neo Paint program, I created the images, which could then be printed out for the boys in multiple copies.
Later as the boys grew older, I was finding that I had a bit more free time on my hands. It was then that I met my dear friend Marj. I had worked with her at Coles for a number of years, and I never realized that she had an extraordinary hidden talent. One day she was talking about some sketches she had done, and I said to her that I loved drawing also, and we both got very excited in discovering that we had art both in common. She showed me some amazing works of art she had created in the past, and I was blown away. Marj then mentioned she hadn't painted for some time, and was wanting to pick up her brushes again and give it another bash. She asked me if I would be interested in joining an art class with her at the local community centre, I said yes, and so we both did. I have been going there now for about five years, the teacher there, Bill Kerr has taught me so much. I know I still have alot to learn but I am enjoying every minute of it.
I would like to thankyou for taking the time and visiting my website, and I hope to post more works for you to view soon.
Fran.
